AURORA, Colo. (November 2007) – Southshore, the premier waterside community located in southeast Aurora, was named Community of the Year on November 3rd during the 29th Annual BAR Awards, hosted by the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA). Developed by Laing/Village LLC, Southshore was also recognized in five other categories, taking first-place honors for "Best Brochure of a Master Planned Community;" "Best Website for a Master Planned Community;" "Best Special Print Promotion;" "Best Advertising Campaign" and "Best Landscape Design." In addition, John Laing Homes and Village Homes both won awards for "Best Interior Merchandising" and "Best Architectural Design" for their models and parade homes at Southshore, resulting in ten outstanding honors for the community.
